Latinx alternative band The Marías perform 'Un Millón' for Grammys.com

One of the exciting and emerging Latinx alternative bands from Los Angeles is The Marías, fronted by lead vocalist María Zardoya. The psychedelic soul pop band is making waves, including being featured in the most recent installation of GRAMMY.com®'s Press Play At Home. As you know, we’ve featured The Marías before, on our 3 Latinx Artists To Have On Your Radar. Now do you see why?

For Press Play At Home, and in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, the band performed their singles “Un Millón”, one of our favorites from their debut bilingual album CINEMA. The installments of Press Play at Home is a video series where artists perform their latest original songs live, creating an intimate experience for fans.

Not only that, but The Marías recently had their first late night performance at Jimmy Kimmel Live! on September 14. Additionally, they became official Billboard chart-toppers with their single “Hush” which became #1 on the Adult Alternative Airplay on September 18. According the Billboard article, the group expressed: “The fact that this lil' song we wrote and recorded in our apartment is now No. 1 on a Billboard chart is crazy to us. We never imagined that would happen. It's a song about not paying attention to the haters, and it's wholesome that people ended up loving it.” They are thriving!
